Deceit by Katelyn Taylor is the fist book in the Gallows Hill series. This is a why choose college dark romance. This had an equal amount of spice and plot. I truly enjoyed this first book and I am immediately starting book 2. I devoured this entire book. The plotline was well paced and kept my attention. The cliffhanger ending has me screaming WTF NOOOOOOOO!!!!! Thank god I do not have to wait for book 2, I need to see what happens next immediately.
Skyla is sheltered nineteen year old that is forced to attend an elite university in Salem, MA by her father. She is also told she will be marrying Asher Putnam. I loved seeing Skyla gain a backbone and confidence throughout this book. Liam, Ronan, and Vincent all have very different personalities but they all equally love Skyla. I loved seeing how each man brought a new side of Skyla out. I also loved seeing the back and forth between her and Asher. This had a great amount of spice but still had a great plot. The plotline regarding Skyla’s stalker had me entertained and added a level of suspense to the storyline. Overall I recommend this book!
