I really enjoyed this book. It was interesting to read a Picoult novel on my reader. I don't usually because the changing fonts of perspectives don't show on my reader (seeing as how this book doesn't have the font changes...). Anyways, I absolutely loved this book.

Picoult has a way of reaching out and pulling the readers in a holding them there until the story is over. This book led me to a question that most would never think of: What if the victim isn't really a victim? and How far would a person go with a lie? This is an interesting question to ask given the nature of the victim in this story.

I loved the plot building and the past versus the present story telling. I enjoyed uncovering the truth as Jack uncovered it. I loved seeing the story from multiple people (although not like her other books). I loved the way the story unfolded with the legal aspects and how something like what happens in this book has an impact on the accused, accuser, and the community.

This is worth the read...

This was the story of a man accused by teenage girls of rape. As a reader, one knows that the man is innocent, but the evidence is definitely stacked against him. This book was definitely thought provoking - how many times has an unfortunate series of events caused a person to be wrongly accused? And how many times have *I* jumped to conclusions before hearing a person's entire story? It bring to mind to the Duke scandal from a couple of years ago and even calls into question some of my feminist beliefs (example: why would a woman claim she was raped and go through all of the struggles that ensue?).returnreturnAt times, I had to put the book down for a few hours because it was just so uncomfortable; I thought Picoult did a wonderful job of making the reader feel the hurt and anger of the situation.

Personally the romance aspect was unnecessary and a little cheesy. I usually like Jodi Picoult for her amazing court cases that she portrays so well. This story had a great legal aspect, but the romance was too much for me.

This book just gave me a bad taste in my mouth- beginning to end. The writing was good. The story was ok. I didn’t find any of the characters likable. The sexual assault and rape allegations aspects were just not an enjoyable subject to base a book around in my opinion. In the book’s defense, this wasn’t a book I would have picked to read, it was the book chosen by my book club.

Finally, a Jodi Picoult book where the ending doesn’t feel like it’s been rushed.

I LOVE Jodi Picoult. This one feels predictable, though I don't know yet if I'm correct in my predictions. I reading slowly, which is rare for her novels.

I gave up. Reminded me too much of the movie The Craft, though no one I talked to has seen that movie...
