Beautiful writing, l and characters, hooked me in early, unique perspective on vampires. Had some odd pacing near the middle, and while everything tied together, it felt like a rush to get it all succinct near the end. Also relies on a failed communication trope, which is not a fan fav of mine personally. Will read the sequel.

The characters were all oddly blase about suddenly becoming magical creatures - they took a face value wayy too easily. Also, the curse that keeps people from talking makes no sense. Other than that, it was fun, ig? Very forgettable for me. I doubt I'll read the sequel, but I enjoyed this one for the most part while it lasted.
