It was lovely to see Shane and Ilya back again especially more settled than their previous book left them. I truly adored 90% of this story and the character development but the one thing that caused me to take off one star was a pretty significant plot plot related to their coming out. I was really hoping that it wouldn’t go the forced outing angle. Besides that minor hiccup, it was great to see Ilya and Shane develop as people, hockey players, and a couple and I love them more than when they were introduced.

A really beautiful and emotional follow-up/conclusion of Shane and Ilya's story. It was so satisfying to see how the past several years had gone and get into the tension and reality of them actually trying to make their relationship work for them. I loved the grit and reality of Ilya's journey but at times it felt like we were a bit too much in his head and not enough spent in dialogue between the two of them.

I love Shane and Ilya and this fictional hockey universe came ro life over these 6 books and I could just stay here pretty happily.

The best fucking romance ever!!

I love this book. I love Shane and Ilia. Although there were more than a few times during this read that I was frustrated by and pissed off at Shane he managed to redeem himself.

Most of all I fucking love Ilia. This was definitely his book. He was always so funny and lovable. He is 100% my favorite character from any romance, or maybe any book, that I've ever read.

They absolutely got their HEA, but I'm so sad to see them go. The author set up what couldn't become multiple other books involving relationships in this universe, so I'm happy to know we will get glimpses of these too, but I need to read more books about them.

UPDATE: this is one of the greatest love stories I've read. I'll forever remember Shane and Ilya.

I've just given Heated Rivalry 4 stars instead of 5 because "I wish I could've read more about Shane and Ilya's HEA" and you're telling me there's a sequel coming????????? My heart. My poor heart.
