There’s a few short stories making up this book. Cute, quick paced romances. I liked them once i realized why the pace was so quick since i prefer the slow burn.

I rated this two stars because I didn't actually find it unreadable; it left me cold and unenthralled but I finished it with no real problems.

I liked the conceit of all four stories in this collection being based around the same events. Sadly that is about the only truly positive thing I can find to say. I was disappointed by the Lady Whistledown entries - it was her name that attracted me to the book and I expected her overviews to be sharp and witty, not bland and tedious.

I don't propose to outline the four stories, plenty of other reviewers have done so and, in all honesty, I didn't find any of them memorable; Julia Quinn's, unsurprisingly, is probably the best but it puzzles me that someone who sets so many books in the Regency era should know, or (presumably) care so little about that time period

I adored 3/4 stories. The 3 I did like were enjoyable but not perfect. I didn't much care for Lord Darington's story. It had promise but was too short, too rushed and just not written in a fashion I liked.
