Julia Quinn's story was the reason I read this and I'd give hers a 3.5 star rating. The other stories were decent but, in my opinion, didn't really compete with Quinn's.
These are fun. Nothing earth shattering, but popcorn reading. Light, fluffy, airy and enjoyable. The first 2 stories were fair the last 2 much stronger. Nice to see 4 authors carry a theme and string shared events through their 4 stories.
"She had never wanted for anything and she saw no reason for three sets of ear bobs when her one pair of pearls matched all her clothes quite nicely. Not that she would have refused another pair, mind you; she just didn't see the need to spend her days pining for jewelry that would never be hers."
