A solid 4-star thriller. Unexpected twists, lots of actions, tension and blood-curdling horror. Read in one ago, will check out the movie next.

Oh my heavens! This was a super gripping read! I couldn't put it down! I did not see those twists and turns coming. If you haven't read this yet, please do!

Darby finds herself stuck stranded due to bad weather at a remote rest stop with a small crew of strangers when she sees something strange and horrifying. How can she save herself and a mysterious stranger?

This is a very quick and exciting read. A locked door who done it meets a bit of horror. It jumps right into the action. The characters are a bit undeveloped but the story plays out more like an action movie you don’t necessarily need to care about the characters to enjoy.

This book was insanely tense from beginning to end with so much packed into it. About 25% of the way through I had no idea how I still had so much left to read because so much had already happened. So many heavy gut-punches.
The ending, when you think Darby is dead but then she isn't?? ONE LAST GUT PUNCH, Wow I had to re-read the last page because I was so caught off-guard

This book really kept me on my toes and I absolutely loved it! Every time that I thought I knew what was going on or what was going to happen next, I was thrown for another loop and it made the book so much fun to read. Something else that I really enjoyed about this book were the characters, particularly the protagonist, Darby. She is such a badass and I think Adams did a great job of writing a strong female lead. The antagonist was equally as well-written; I felt like they were oozing evil off the page at some times.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good thriller but is maybe looking for something a little more suspenseful and twisty. I find that personally, I can usually predict the ending of the story or what the plot twist is going to be and I really couldn't do that with this book; so if you are looking for something a bit more unpredictable, I would give this a try. I would also recommend this book if you're in a reading slump because from the first chapter, I was pulled into the story and I had physical reactions to it while reading. I had anxiety the entire time I was reading this, and I think one of the things that makes this so scary is that it's more of a realistic scenario than maybe some other mystery/thrillers.

Overall, I really enjoyed this and would recommend it if you like mysteries and thrillers, or if you're in a slump and need something to remind you why you love reading so much.

This was so much and bordered on ridiculous. Lots of action, lots of coincidences, backstabbing, lying. This book could have done with a twist or two rather than the seventy-five small ones it had.
