More light-hearted than the first two in the series. I had expected the other side of the Ghost Gate to be filled with space-wrecks; I had expected various conflicting versions of the Tyrant to be appearing in different bodies... but it was still great, very exciting.

What an amazing sci-fi trilogy 🥹🥰 I love the “found family” trope, how the AI were the good guys, and just the space opera-ness of this. It was so much fun and Breq is easily one of my favorite non-human-but significant-beings I’ve ever read about!!!

A pretty satisfying ending to the series and a really solid final chapter, but perhaps a bit lacking as an individual book. Part of my problem was that it'd been long enough since I read the 2nd book that I couldn't quite remember a lot of important details going into the 3rd. I only finally felt I'd caught up as the book was ending. Still, it was an obsessively good read and I'm sad it's over. I'd read an entire book just about Presger Translator Zeiat's shenanigans around the station.

This last instalment of the Ancillary series begins right after Ancillary Sword ended. We’re back in Athoek space with its station and planet and the different fractions of the split personalities of the Lord of the Radch vie for attention. The plot starts at a sedated pace but turns fast pretty quickly until events happen at a rapid pace.
When I said in my last review that Breq has the roots of a revolutionary I wasn’t expecting to be proven true so fast, but I loved how that turned out. I also loved translator Zeiat, who was sadly not Dilque, but was as hilarious as her. Her interactions with Sphene were absolutely amazing.
There is some superb dry sense of humour in all three books but especially in the last two. It seems that the more at home Breq feels in just one body the more it shines. It might also be a thing of a being of artificial intelligence in this universe.
I’m a bit sad that I’ve come to an end with this series. At least there is another book in this universe and I might have a chance to meet some characters again at the conclave. *fingers crossed*
