This series does nothing but get better and better. Like, how is does this happen, I think oh yes this is my fave of the series and the next one happens and then that’s the new fave..
Vince and Crossbody are EVERYTHING. Their fierce hatred of each other turns into degrading passionate spicy times and HOLY DANG was it good! The more they hook up, the less animosity they have in the workday hours (eventually!)
As they learn more tidbits about each other, they both come to realize they had maybe been a bit harsh in their hatred of each other and not actually understanding what the other has been through.
Loved loved loved this story so much. Such a joy to read, so hot, so emotive, such excellent story telling. This series is truly outstanding.
Also, Ethel is badass.

I gotta say, I was pretty anxious about this book when the first couple of hate sex scenes popped up cuz I was 0% impressed with Vince and his initial approach to degradation. However, both characters had good redemption arcs and were able to see the good in each other and, of course, fall in love. And start being emotionally safer about their kink. I liked that they both had issues with crappy parents, even though they came from vastly different backgrounds. This hit in the parent trauma feels, but had some solid resolutions for at least some of the trauma.
