I loved this! Mayne’s stories never disappoint. The tension between Vince and Crossbody was amazing, and the emotional layers of their family life added so much. Plus, the Granny Lizzard Mafia was hilarious! A fantastic read!

Lily Mayne has proven that she is a true master of writing super sweet and very steamy romances. What she hadn't done, until this book, is write a 'hate f$%*' story. Turns out, she can do that just as well, AND manage to turn it into a super sweet and very steamy romance! False Comeback, the 4th book in the Goliaths of Wrestling series by Lily Mayne, builds on the world that Lily has created, and adds a context and background to two previously fairly mysterious characters. Vince and Crossbody's journey is hilarious, heart-melting, and holy heckin' hot!

This has become my emotional support series. These books are so funny and lighthearted while having just the spiciest smut imaginable. Vince and Crossbody have a great enemies to lovers story arc with a healthy dose of degradation kink thrown in. I cannot wait for the next book to come out.

This series really went downhill for me after the first book. Looking back, I realized why I enjoyed that one so much: the main characters were likable from the start and didn’t need redemption arcs. The rest of the books? Not so much—I was always annoyed by at least one (if not both) of the main characters.
This book was no exception. Vince was too mean and condescending outside of the sexual scenes, and Crossbody’s narcissism made him hard to like. On top of that, they didn’t establish any ground rules or boundaries before jumping into their sex scenes, which made the whole thing uncomfortable to read. It just wasn’t a fun or pleasant experience.
Things finally started improving after the 50% mark. Mimi Ethel showing up was the highlight of the book, and the whole scene in the fae realm was actually funny—but unfortunately, it was the only funny moment.
P.S. The word “prick” made me cringe every time. Why couldn’t it just be “cock”? And I never want to read the word “cumdump” again.
