“Like all Herondales, his ability to love without measure, without end, was both his great gift and his great curse.”

Another enjoyable Novella, however, this one wasn't as gripping as the first one. But I am having such a fun time following Simon.

Poor Tobias :'((
Also, this makes me cry like a lot, I've never thought the process in which Simon gets back his memories was that painful but it wouldn't make sense if it wasn't.

Super excited because HERONDALE??
I am glad he was in the 20 so he could go and see the vampire. I hate how manipulative she was and then izzy saved him and oh gosh no.
Catarina telling him the story!! Yesss I figured because no HERONDALE would run without good reason. And clary visiting! Yes yes yes aw I just want Simon to be okay. - May 2017

Again, I wasn't too bothered by this story - it was simply okay.
I found it a bit strange that Simon's "elite" friends weren't friends with him anymore. That was quick! It was probably to depict their lack of trust in Simon but it felt unnecessary. Izzy was great though, and Simon's treatment of her was disappointing. Clary's talk at the end was good.

I'm starting to like these a bit more! I think this was a bit better than the first, but I'm no way in complete love with these novellas yet.

My favorite part was learning a bit more about what the Shadowhunters really value. Simon's wit and sarcasm is also a huge plus and makes me laugh every time.

The harshness of the world still sort of jars me though. Especially what happened to Tobias's wife. And then hearing the actual events of why Tobias left the other Shadowhunters made me so sad and upset. It goes to show there's always a backstory or another side to what people have been told.

It was a good novella and I did enjoy it. Simon is a great lead and I love having him be the center of his own books, and getting to be the star. I just love Simon. On to the next!

I feel you, Simon. I feel you.

¡You rock Simon!
