Overall, interesting thoughts on how humanity might proceed, now that famine, sickness and war is solved for the most part and how it could fundamentally change what it means to be an individual in society and that it might not be a wonderful journey for everyone.
Second part of this book is very interesting in the context of GDPR and what it tries to stop.

I enjoyed Deus a lot more than sapiens, I felt it was sharper, more opinionated and more relevant to the modern world. The coverage of the possible futures of mankind is grounded, well researched and relevant to the layman which cannot be said for 90% of its contemporaries. Very nearly a 4.5 but it is a little out of date now which holds it back a bit
This book takes you for a ride and really pushes your mind to concepts that at first seem so foreign and eventually make a scary amount of sense. It is fascinating to look at this book with the issues going on in today's world and look at all of the things it seems we spend time on that will make little difference in our world.

Homo Deus didn't work for me. I liked Sapiens, it was thought-provoking and I learned a lot of new things about human history and culture from that. This sequel, is highly repetitive in the first half. Actually if someone has read Sapiens and remembers the basics, they can easily start this book after the first 250 pages. About the 'History of Tomorrow' part: it's good. Of course it's all his predictions, so there are certain biases, and it was sinister at places. And sometimes his predictions felt highly influenced by popular sci-fi and dystopian novels. But for me the main problem was how much Harari wrote about every topic. It felt like a classroom where the teacher is convinced that he is dealing with the most inattentive student and keeps repeating the same thing in different ways.
