Intriguing

I enjoyed the authors first book Sapiens immensely and thought I'd like this one as much but found much of the beginning chapters a review of Sapiens. The last 100 pages though are dynamite. His thesis is important for anyone and everyone to ponder and even start preparing for.

Quite an enjoyable read. Thought provoking, and it reads like one long narrative, the way each chapter seamlessly melds into the next.

It almost clinically re introduces you to the harshness of reality and makes you ponder on what we have done, what we have gotten ourselves into, and what would be the consequences of our actions.

Just didn't do it for me. Got bored and walked away...

If you want a "big picture" author, Yuval Noah Harari is the way to go. But as with Sapiens, I found the first part more interesting than the end. He is able to think about big things that sometimes cross my mind, but has lots of data and examples to actually answer those questions. I felt he completely discounted climate change, however, and as with, I don't know, 100% of the non-fiction books I read, I felt it was too long. :)
