Loved it. When I went to work I kept thinking “where is Monday?” It was so emotional and tense and I could not have guessed the twist. It was a great read, I can’t wait to one day forget the mystery and read it again. I pray for the day.

It is very confusing at first, but keep with it!

The reveal of what happened to Monday is one of the most intense buildups I’ve ever read

It started off slow for me, but picked up halfway through. There were twists I didn't expect and it got very dark.

Well, that was not at all what I expected! This is not my favorite book by Jackson, mostly because of the back and forth time structure that was somewhat difficult to follow. I think the plot was shocking, revolting, and honest and the characters were gritty and real. This story would be a good read for hesitant teen readers because of its’ short chapters and engaging content.

HOLY COW!!!!

This book is about a young girl, Claudia, who is searching for her best friend, Monday, after not hearing from her in a long time.

I did not expect to love this book as much as I do! Read this right now!

It features an unreliable narrator with time jumps that might confuse you until the final chapter when it’s not confusing anymore! The plot twist was so not expected and made the way the book was formatted make so much sense.

A slow burn mystery as a girl slowly unravels the mystery of her best friend's disappearance. While haunting, propulsive, at times it can feel as though Jackson has no idea what type of story she is telling or who these characters are and how they should behave--but as the story reveals itself, it becomes clear she's had it well in hang the whole time. This is ultimately a reflection on recognizing the red flags for child abuse, trauma, mental illness, and grief, and how they tie into Black and impoverished communities. Masterfully done, and not one soon to leave your mind.
