Although I loved the idea of this book, I was very disappointed. For the first 150 pages I was extremely bored. Then the time alternating was not good but rather confusing. The ending would have been fire, if only it was not written in the after, before and before the before. I loved the months were claudia would describe a character as a colour as it was rather wise. This was such a heavy book talking about child abuse and tragedy however a bit confusing and hard to get into.

I don't know what to say..
It felt like being inside the brain of an 8 years old instead of a teenager..
Timeline as messy as my life..
So many parts did not make sense?
It wasn't bad, but it could've been better.
I was expecting to love this book but, It just made me angry.

The pace of the book was so slow, I found that I had to force myself to read sometimes. My rating mainly comes from being glued to the book for the last 100 or so pages. Claudia's "love interest" was unexpected, but a breath of fresh air. It made the beginning and middle of the book more tolerable. The most unbearable of it all was the set up of the chapters. Don't spend too much time trying to understand it, because you won't...not until the VERY end. For me, after realizing the set up of the chapters, I had to backtrack to understand what transpired and when it transpired. Everything makes sense once you get to the end, which makes for an amazing ending but not an amazing story. As a result, I probably won't read another book by this author.

Now when it comes to Monday, whew. It's crazy that all of the things she went through went unnoticed by everyone. They simply failed her.
