Our band of lovable rogues and their allies split ways after liberating not!Japan only to find out the world's lost its collective marbles; the government made big moves, the disavowed privateers have made big moves, the Revolutionaries are getting framed for a supposed big move, and Blackbeard & his cronies have made EXTRA big moves.
But rather than get involved, WE'RE GOING TO TOMORROWLAND!

Technology in the "One Piece" world has always been a weird sliding scale of old-school and cutting edge sci-fi. Most of telecommunications has been relegated to magic snails, people still get around on wind-in-yer-sails ships, cars aren't a thing (no, the turtle-powered one in that one movie doesn't count), AND YET, we have trains that run on the surface of the ocean, multi-level but separately climated hellscapes in one prison, and fully functional cyborgs that shoot frickin' laser beams!
So the next island to visit is the secret laboratory of a frequently teased name DR. VEGAPUNK...who we find out split themselves into 7 bodies to deal with all the genius ideas and differing parts of personality (including one to take care of the pesky biological functions of eating, pooping, & sleeping! XD).
Also looks like that Jewelry Bonney, someone else the government decided to label as a big up&comer, is involved somehow. Possibly vengeance, possibly assistance, who knows?

5 star storytelling wise, but bragging in the sbs about not doing panty shots and then in the next chapter putting both female leads into panties... a move

oda’s mind is pure BRILLIANCE. literally how does he do it. it makes you wonder how much was planned from the start and how much was improvised. i feel like i’m getting so much closer to solving the mysteries of this universe, while watching it expand even more… the worldbuilding in one piece is just on another level.

  • the whole debacle with Crocodile, Mihawk, and Buggy is frankly hilarious and truly goes to show how unserious this series is
  • EGG!HEAD! ISLAND! ARC!!!!! yee haw

  • I'm happy Bonney is gonna join the journey tho; still not looking forward to how awful the depictions of her will be
  • Dr. VEGAPUNK awooga i love science and futuristic tech vibes, definitely allows Oda to be a lot more creative
