A sweet little true story about a young woman and a baby whale and the adventures they go on one morning.

The goodreads synopsis was better than the actual book. Read it instead!

I didn’t know what to expect with this. Never read the description. Someone in an online book group said it was a short, sweet, moving and beautiful story and I added it to my queue. I did not expect to love this book as much as I did. It is write. With such gentleness and detail that you can envision everything. From every breath of air, every stroke in the water, every sight and sensation. And the story was just filled with such wonderful little bits of knowledge that I had to write them down. Just so inspirational and beautiful.

This was a nice story, but not nearly as exciting as I expected a story about swimming with a whale in the open ocean to be. The author's soothing voice didn't help, and I had to work to get it finished.

A sweet, simple, and short story about the author's profound experience encountering a baby gray whale. The underlying message was nice, but the anthropomorphizing and psychically communing with the universe were A Lot and the sporadic injection of Wikipedia-esque ocean facts was awkward. (I also strongly suspect given the species present and the time of year that she used a lot of poetic license to inject more ocean life into the narrative than she actually encountered and also also, it's illegal to approach and touch marine mammals in the US so...there's that). However, for children or for someone who isn't as familiar with the ocean and its wildlife, I could see this being an effective combination of educational and compelling, and could get people interested wildlife research and conservation.

Sea swimmer finds a lost baby gray whale and helps him find his mother. Really neat story! Learned a lot about sea creatures.

I really liked this book because it is so inspiring. A 17 year old Open Water gold medal swimmer literally bumps into a baby gray whale during her morning workout in the Pacific ocean.

This book was a breath of fresh air from all the normal books I read that always have some mysterious twist or some kind of paranormal twist. I really enjoyed reading something that was actually real and of course I have always been fascinated with sea creatures so this was perfect. Lynne had me holding on to the very end trying to figure out if Grayson was going to be lost forever or not. I loved this awesome reminder of life and the wonderful things that the world is full of!
