I wad looking for a slow, low stakes book. However this one is too slow and too low stakes. I also feel like it didn't need to he as long as it was. The last half of the book was more fun and entertaining than the first half.

Incorrect expectations, I supose. I thought this was non-fiction when I picked this up. While I enjoyed it for what it was so far, it failed to catch my attention enough to want to finish it.

A quirky and entertaining read. We follow the main character through her temporary jobs that, she makes her own for a time. You are acutely aware that she is trying to work out her place in the world after experiencing some previous work burnout. I savoured her musings on work, life, the supernatural, friendship, family and food. I liked her very much and wished I could taste the snacks she described in colourful detail.

I appreciate the message of the book, but I found the story a bit bland. While some of the translation is a bit confusing, I enjoyed the read and light-hearted feel.

Reading this while on my work breaks got me out of a reading AND work slump, I love how mysterious it feels and the diversity of plot within each story but how they all connect, it was a really simple read and I found it silly how hypocritical the main characters is when she judges her coworkers/“customers” because it does not differ from real life >o< (I agree it can be a bit redundant, the chapters are long but I felt like the target audience being mainly working people around ages 20+ made me enjoy this book plenty!)
