4.0

Busy author Bruce Coville (My Teacher is an Alien) has tackled several of Shakespeare's plays and explained them for children--more modern versions than those of Charles and Mary Lamb.

Now, his Full Cast Audio has made 4 of them available on audio: A Midsummer Night's Dream, Twelfth Night, Romeo & Juliet, and Macbeth. Full Cast Audio is an absolutely enjoyable way to listen to books, and really the only proper way to share Shakespeare's plays on audio.

This is a great method to share Shakespeare's stories with children. Adults, who may have suffered through annotated versions of the plays in schools, will appreciate hearing famous phrases that have entered everyday speech.

Enjoy!

(Educators: This reminds me of my mom's master's thesis in Education. She used Albert Cullum's book Shake Hands with Shakespeare to provide lessons with one of her 6th grade Reading classes, while her other classes had the regular curriculum. She found great improvements in those who had done the Shakespeare unit. Cullum's book is out of print. I did find a similar book for teens at amazon.com--Shaking Hands with Shakespeare by Allison Schumacher, which readers there seem to like.)
