Thank you NetGalley and PRH Audio for my review copies.
My đź’:
I enjoyed this book way better than “The Nanny” which ended up being a DNF for me. This book was fun, had good banter and chemistry. Spice was good. I did like that the drama wasn’t too over the top and didn’t drag on for the reminder of the book. Firm believer simple communication can solve a lot of problems and glad that this book delivered in that area. I do hope we get more books in this universe as I’m a big fan of shifter books.
Audiobook đź’:
I did switch back and forth between the audio and it was a great production. Joe Arden can do NO wrong and always knocks it out of the park. Summers is a new to me narrator and she did a great job as well.

Lana’s second novel is definitely not as strong as The Nanny. This one offered up some great spicy scenes like her first book but otherwise it fell flat for me. I didn’t feel like Mackenzie and Noah’s connection and bond was much beyond their hormones. I needed to see their emotional connection more fleshed out. The shifter aspect of the book didn’t seem to add much to the story and relationship. I felt like this book couldn’t decide if it wanted to be paranormal or not. Also, the background information wasn’t laid out early enough in the story. I still enjoyed the book but this one was not as exciting as I had hoped.

A very fun and fluffy omegaverse romance! It’s fake dating done well with likable characters and minimal miscommunication. This is a very easy introduction into omegaverse! I would highly recommend this books to anyone who likes their romance books to have well developed characters, a strong plot, and a good amount of spicy content. Great read. Fun time.

Out tomorrow (Dec. 5) [Thank you to the publisher for providing me with an eARC!]
Rating: 4.5/5 stars
Mackenzie needs someone to pretend to be her boyfriend, and Noah needs someone to pretend to be his mate. Real feelings ensue when the two (who are also omega and alpha shifters, respectively) begin a “fake” relationship.
This was my first time reading paranormal/shifter romance and it DEFINITELY delivered. The Fake Mate was so spicy and fun but also so heartfelt and adorable. It’s also basically Grey’s Anatomy but with werewolves, and honestly that would have been the only information I needed in order to be obsessed with it.
Lana Ferguson is quickly becoming an auto-buy author, and I think all fans of romance will have a fun time with this book, whether it’s your first shifter rom-com or one of many.
Recommended to anyone, but especially if you like: he falls first; fake dating; Grey’s Anatomy
CW: abandonment
