I really loved his book Shadow of the Wind. This book was a disappointment in comparison. The main character was kind of boring. The story started off slow and ended weird. I wouldn't recommend it.

I read this after Shadow of the Wind which made some of the plot elements and storytelling style predictable but, overall, I think I enjoyed it more. Some of the characters from Shadow reappear in thus book in a wonderful way that is truly exciting, like unexpectedly running into an old friend. The story is more gothic than Shadow, like Wuthering Heights to Jane Eyre. I would definitely recommend

Seguir los pasos del escritor Daniel Martin, del patrón Andreas Corelli y de la historia detrás de la casa de la torre. Cada palabra está perfectamente bien planteada en toda la novela. El final es una perfecta maldición así como una gran petición de perdón.

Leave it to Carlos Ruiz Zafron to have a great ending to a book. What an amazing story!
