I finished this book in one day! That’s how good it was. However, I was under the impression that each book in the serious was a sci-fi retelling on certain fairytales, not a continuing story over a few books so that was a bit disappointed when I found that out at the end of this book. I hope that the next books are just as good and not drawn out needlessly in their plot.

This was a really clever twist on a common fairytale. I had my hesitations about Cinderella being a cyborg but this author makes it work really well. I'm definitely looking forward to reading the entire series.

I liked this book. However, I think the review someone left (on the inner flap of the book) that says it's a cross between Cinderella, Star Wars and The Terminator is a bit out there. I picked it up partially based on that quote alone.

I want to tell you that if anything it reminds me of Cindrella + aspects (not the story) of Blade Runner. There are androids, there are people, and the main character who is trying to figure out where she lies: human or android.

I think what I really enjoyed was the mixture of sci-fi and fairytale. It's what made it a fast read and a pretty good one, too.

I mark it down two stars because the world building is pretty weak. I give it props for having a cast of Asian characters, but honestly you couldn't really tell it was supposed to take place in Beijing.

I picked up book two and three.

This never even made it onto my "Currently Reading" box because I started reading it one afternoon at 3pm. and finished it at 11:50 that night. It was awesome. I could barely put it down to get things done. Cinder was an wonderful heroine. Full of wonder, angst, and so much potential. I cannot wait for the next book!! I haven't been this excited about a series in a long time, let me tell you. Read it!!!

I feel a bit late to the party on this one. It had it's predictable moments, but honestly I didn't mind at all. Marissa's characters were fun and vibrant as usual, and for a debut novel the plot and world building was incredibly impressive. I can't wait to read the next one!
