I thought it started out like a fun adventure, but then it sped up to the point that relationships didn't feel believable. It also got a bit Jesus-y at the end, which is overdone.

What an excellent read. Great middle grade/YA. Loved it. Adventurous and heartfelt. The stakes were high and real and so were the consequences. It moved and turned and was very fun to read.

Enjoyed reading this with my kids. The themes of not underestimating children and sharing power are timely. Liked the friendship between the two main characters. Interested to see what happens in the second book.
