I didn’t like the format of this book or the pacing. The back and forth made it feel like the characters’ growth was stunted, a problem that was only slightly fixed at the end. Also, even though the pacing was fast, the book felt interminable. Lastly, I didn’t find either protagonist charismatic and their chemistry wasn’t palpable, not enough to justify a whole book about what’s basically a one-night stand they would never forget. I think Chani’s POV is too noisy and didn’t lend itself well for the reader to appreciate/ fall in love with Gabe the way I think we’re meant to. All in all, not a very entertaining read.
