I loved this book. I'm not a big reader of historical fiction but this book kept a good pace and kept me interested. This book was amazing and I would highly reccomend it.

Immensely enjoyed this book. I have a hard time deciding which I like more, this or Grapes of Wrath. Both are phenomenal. Since I’ve also really enjoyed another book by this author (The Nightingale), I can say I’ve become quite a fan of her work. Another of hers will quickly be mine!

Im of mixed minds because I guess I’m glad I stuck around but I REALLY wanted to dnf at the beginning.
I loved where we got in the end but especially at the beginning, characters felt cartoonish and the pace was weird. Hoping this is the only book of Hannah’s like this bc I have others on my tbr!

I read this book because I enjoyed another by the same author more than I expected.
This book was good, but very predictable at the start. It began as a change to read & remained one throughout the rest of the story. I felt that there was more of a story that could have been written, and the one that I read was not it.
