3.5. I liked the premise more than the final product. The art was good and the characters engaging, but the story was meh

Fun, sweet friendship story about a couple of kids who decide to film a documentary about a local ghost story on Martha's Vineyard.

historical fiction about local islanders present during the filming of Jaws. I inadvertently took a long break between starting and finishing this book, so that might have been why i was confused by certain points, but it might also have been the writing? e.g. Lex was a fairly key player, but after being introduced briefly in the prologue, she didn't come back again until page 61 and after 9 pages of being present then disappears until p. 177. And I found the whole mystery confusing.

There are a lot of great concepts woven together in one graphic novel. A disgraced little league player who needs to get money to help pay for her family's ice cream shop, a film making competition with a cash prize that can help her do so, and a mysterious ghost story in need of an ending. They all fit together to create an exciting page turner. There are fun Scooby-doo vibes, sweet friendships, and a spooky ghost story.

Very enjoyable story. World building and character development was great, but there was some plot lines left very unresolved, and it made me feel let down a bit.
