The first book in this series left me wanting to know more about who Dr. Gretchen White really was. The second book did not disappoint giving me all the answers I craved and so much more. I was bothered by her description as a sociopath because it didn’t feel authentic. Bad behavior does not make a sociopath, but in the end that came together a little more for me in that it was a role she was groomed to take on early in life albeit likely not as true to who she really is, or could have become. This is a twisty mystery and just when I thought I figured out what was happening things changed. I loved this character and her budding friendship with Marconi. I loved how this mystery unraveled. I felt the time hops were really well done and added to the story and mystery seamlessly. Overall, the character development in this book was really well done. I did wonder though about Anders in the end. He just disappeared from the pages in the end, and I wished his part of the story was wrapped up as neatly as the rest. Definitely an enjoyable read.
