This was really interesting to read and made me consider other religions while I read. I had new appreciation for Erebus. It was interesting to see how vampyres in the HON world came to be. The only thing that I questioned was the sacrifice the Shaman had made. It didn't make a ton of sense- he chose to become a bison, but...he sacrificed a maiden, and his own life. I know the maiden lived and became the first vampyre, but was that actually the intent of Mother Earth?
Despite this being not clear to me, it was an intriguing read nonetheless.

I enjoyed this novella, it was a nice take on Kalona's history with Nyx.

Really interesting to know the background of how it all happened. This twist shows Kalona to be a really sweet guy. Also cool to read how vampyres came to be
