In hindsight I should’ve given cecillias book a higher rating. Definitely enjoyed it but my entertainment was thwarted by my week of commuting at 7am everyday so it’s not entirely the books fault. That being said, I did forgot to actually rate the book immediately after finishing it. Unusual.

The reviews about India Holtons expressive language weren’t lying. Yet again, a lot of fun and wit throughout all her characters, I will have to get the next one.

Same as the wisteria society, I think it clear that she doesn’t put a lot of stock into her plot points, but I also didn’t sign up for this one for the plot. I came for pirates, just like Charlotte. But I do wish there was slightly more stakes in the relationship rather than just being given a road trip romance without much detail on the actual road trip itself. Again, maybe there was but it slipped my train idled brain.

Will still reread on a spare day and be getting the next.🤞

There is barely any plot. Just two characters unbelievably down bad for each other to the point that anything plot-driving gets interrupted, which is not what I'm looking for right now.

This was an absolute joyous ride of a book. Doesn't take itself too seriously, but also is seriously fun.

Dare I say I liked this more than the first. I loved the way the characters from the first book played a part in this one. Alex and Charlottes chemistry was great and I loved their banter. I do always hate the innocent clueless to men’s ways and sexuality thing annoying but I get it for the time period it just always brothers me a little (poor ignorant, naive, and angelic women). I thought the story in this one was a little more focused and developed in this one where the last one had a lot going on and was hard to follow at time, IMO.
