I’m not sure what to say about this book. I read it from start to finish, but I had to force myself to finish the book. I wasn’t offended by any of the content or the taboo subject matter in parts - it was just dry. I was looking for more to connect with but the book just fell flat for me.
A couple people I know thought this book was weird when they read it. However, I thought it was really beautiful. There was beauty in the truth of it.
The writing was kind of bland but I blame the translation from to German to English, I believe you always lose something when it's translated from it's original language.
Otherwise the plot was great and the characters. I remember the movie and it was fantastic, maybe even better than the book in some ways.
