A fun continuation for the series, though book 1 is still my favorite.

Audiobook performer was VERY breathy and annoying. It's possible they changed voice actors in the audiobook to get someone who could sound Romanian.

So, either the quality is deteriorating or the novelty has worn off.

The story picks up where Hazel was burned trying to help Lucy and leaves with the Dr Friend - Sam - of Miles. Hazel begins working for Sam and it's all so proper when her long lost uncle - the Count - comes in town to take her to her twin sister.

It's just so obvious. I mean - a RomCom is obvious, but there has to be an interesting journey in order for us to keep watching.

Maybe I'm biased,

The Lady in the Coppergate Tower retells the story of Rapunzel in a unique way. While it wasn't my favorite story in this series, it was still really good. It just took me a little while to get into it and connect with Hazel and Sam. But once the Count showed up, the pace really picked up and when they headed to Romania, I could hardly put it down.

I loved the change of scenery. The submersible was a fun setting and then Romania was great. I always find it to be a fittingly creepy backdrop for books like this.

I'm loving this series and the way it combines steampunk, fairy tales, and supernatural elements. Those are three of my favorite things and it's done so well here. I'm beyond excited for Emme and Oliver's story in Brass Carriages and Glass Hearts. I can't wait!

Fluffy clean romance. Not my genre and terribly formulaic but entertaining enough to skim.

I wanted to read this book because I love all the Proper Romance books that I have read before and the idea of Steampunk genre intrigued me. I also am a fan of fairytale retellings, so I thought this would be right up my ally, and it was. However, I did not know much about Steampunk before reading this and I really wish I would have.

I was a little confused with the world/setting in the beginning, but I think this had more to do with my lack of Steampunk knowledge more than anything. It seems that Steampunk is quite a mix of genres, and I never would have known if I hadn't read this book. Its a fantasy, historical fiction, and sci-fi book mixed along with the romance which I found to be enjoyable and unique. This book can be read as a standalone (which is how I read it), but I really wish I would have read the previous two books in the series beforehand so that I would have had a clearer understanding of the genre.

Overall The Lady in the Coppergate Tower was a good book. I liked the writing and it was a light and easy read. There was a time in the middle when it dragged slightly, but they were on the submersible for a very large portion of the book, and I believe that to be the reason.

I liked the will-they/won't-they romance, but I did wish there was more romance to the book. It honestly felt more like a thriller/mystery with a sprinkle of romance thrown in. I don't have any problem with the other genres, so it didn't bother me, but seeing as it is labeled as a romance, I did expect there to be more of it.

If you are a fan of Steampunk, then I highly recommend this book. It was well written with a good fairytale retelling storyline.
