Another Farren, again, not previously read. An enjoyable romp, with fantasy elements, through some sort of strange world, where reality fades, where there are three wandering super-beings, who are dedicated to restoring stability, and where some type of enhanced humans live a life of luxury, with genetic slaves.

The protagonist of this adventure, assuming that a protag can be two, are two friends, who leave their provincial, quiet home town, and venture out to explore this wilderness. There is at this stage of the story, no sign of a resolution, it is all about the journey. The following two books in the trilogy, may, or may not (Farren), this resolution. Fun, recommended.

DNF. tw: mention of rape.

started as fun pulpy science fiction, devolved into absolute garbage. no emotional consequences for any characters, nothing interesting about the world is actually fleshed out. i was gonna give it two stars because sometimes it’s funny but the gang rape at the end made me put it down and i intend to never try it again. so many interesting foundations, but the author apparently couldn’t stand to do a second edit or get a proofread from someone who actually knows how stories work.
