i powered through after dnfing this and i can’t say if it was worth it or not. this could’ve been five stars if brandon wasn’t such a mormon about it.

The magic system, like everybody has been saying, is so good *chef's kiss* delicious! I feel like the world is so realized that I just want to learn more about it. The writing is engaging and many action scenes that are so good and with high stakes. The characters stand out, all have each of their specialty and personality that it's clear to me as a reader who they are. I can latch on to them very easily and find their what and whys.
There is a part in the end where the Lord Ruler is revealed to be using Feruchemy along with Allomancy that's why he was wearing metal bracelets, I kind of saw that a handful of pages before the actual reveal that I was just waiting for it to happen. The twist that he was Rashek, though, was a pretty nice one. Then when Kelsier died I didn't believe it? Because no way they killed him, he's so important! So I had no reaction when he finally met his demise and I was just thinking, "all part of the plan." Turns out, yes, that IS part of the plan. Just not the fake death stunt I thought it was. That was cool, though. A martyr for the skaa to rebel.
