I quite enjoyed this book throughout. It’s fairly well thought out. It’s not perfect as many have suggested it is. However the characterizations and a good portion of the world building is done really well. These characters already are very memorable to me. I honestly can’t wait to get to the rest of the series.

I'm a fantasy lover, and this is definitely a highlight. There is a lot of physical abuse, war, abandonment and death, as well as gore. The tropes I listed above are quite graphic as well. Overall this book as amazing, and a definite 4.5 stars, and the reason it's not a five star is because I'm used to high stakes, fast paced books such as Percy Jackson. But overall a great read for a rainy day and you've nothing better to do 😁

Actual character arcs? A magical world that's actually built out with a complex hard magic system? A rebellion? Twists I actually did not see coming? Uh, YEAH. This is the first Sanderson book I've read and I'm looking forward to finishing the series.

This is one of the only books I have read physically. I loved it. I could see so many things in this book. The pace was great and I loved the prose despite it not being very flowery or complex. It was a story and a damn good one

PHENOMENAL world-building. Incredibly well-thought out. Adventurous and exciting while grounded in limits. Vin (one of the main characters) shows tons of growth, but without it seeming too quick and far-fetched.
Learning all of the terms and the ins and out of this world are difficult but SOOO worth it!! I am in awe by how well this book is written!!!
