IDK if it's fair/unfair, but I wanted SO MUCH MORE from this. Like GIVE ME ALL THE RECONNECTION.
This was a quick read that I had NEVER expected to find in my wildest dreams and I am still disappointed in myself that I did not know this existed before the other day.
MAJOR SPOILER ALERT IF YOU HAVE NOT READ BOTH NEON GODS AND LEARN MY LESSON BY KATEE ROBERT!
The book starts with Hermes letting Hades (of Neon Gods fame) know that his father, who he has believed to have been dead at the hand of Zeus for a long time, is actually alive, something that takes him a while to believe, and what is even worse is that his father, also Hades (of Learn my Lesson fame) is unaware that his son is still alive. When I say this gave me more questions than answers, THIS GAVE ME MORE QUESTIONS THAN ANSWERS (we will get to that in a second)!
Hades (Neon Gods) decides that he is going to write his father since he can’t leave Olympus without a big production to see if his father is even willing to meet with him. Hermes personally delivers that letter to Hades (Learn my Lesson) in Carver City and throws that man’s world for a loop!
Enter the meeting of the century. Both Hades’ decide to meet at a neutral location and begin the most awkward realization that neither was truly dead and that they have missed out on so much of their lives together.
This was a very quick read (I seriously think it was only 50 pages), but it left me with so many unanswered questions- If both father and son survived, is Hades’ (Neon Gods) mother truly dead or is there more to that story that we don’t know yet? Did Andreas know that both father and son were alive and keeping it from each other to protect them from the wrath of Zeus? Will they continue their relationship after this meeting since face to face meetings are extremely complicated to execute? I could seriously read a stand alone book (or series of books) on the development of this relationship- seeing Hades (Neon Gods) meet Hercules and Meg and witness his father’s relationship with both and all parties from Learn my Lesson meet Persephone. This mini arc left the door open for many other books to be developed and I can’t wait to see if more comes of this arc!

It is nice to see Hades and Hades reconnect. This little short story left me wanting more. But it was nice to see the connecting between the two series.

This is just a collection of three fragments/ very short stories which were published as part of extra material for Patreon readers. Really lovely to get some background (and spark some hope of a crossover... or more of a crossover?). Love both Hades...es.
