Oh my goodness, I'm so glad I waited to read this, if I had waited a 1 1/2 years to find out the end of this story, I would've been crushed. I LOVE this series by Cassandra Clare but I don't know if my heart can handle the finale coming next month. 5+++

This book was fun, but I’m tiring of reading books set in this universe. I’ll probably read the series final when it comes out in a couple years, but think I’m done with the future spin-offs.
Of course, if nostalgia strikes, I might change my mind.

I REALLY enjoyed this book, the action, the depth in which Cassandra described the character's emotions, the constant change in settings, and even the love stories all built together to make this book one of my favorite Cassandra has ever written. The ending was unexpected, and filled with emotions, and the character development throughout this story was fabulous.

Cassandra Clare really stepped up her game.
What I want to say first: this had great relevant social commentary. It's not "racism is bad", like we see in City of glass, which obviously is important to say but also feels pretty empty. This book touched trans issues, autism, racism and segregation and many more. I'm not a big fan of Clare as a person, but I have to give her that.
I felt so sorry for Annabel and then she ruined it in like the last two pages. Girl are you for fucking REAL!!! WHAT THE FUCK!!!!!!! CALM THE FUCK DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!
Malec being a family. I physically squealed when I read Raphael is argentinian because I AM!!!!!! I immediately thought of like a million headcanons, and they all include Rafe cursing his mouth out in spanish, with a heavy argentinian accent. All kids know "andate a la concha de tu hermana y a la re puta madre que te re mil parió" by when they're five.
TY AND KIT. THERE'S OBVIOUSLY A ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP SET UP GOING ON AND I LOVE IT. SO. MUCH. They both are just what the other needs, and I'm down for it. Also, Kit has it easier than any other shadowhunter understanding Ty, since being raised a mundane gave him a word for that --autism. I hope someday he gives it to Ty.
Cristina, Kieran and Mark will be the death for me. Please just let them have a polyamorous relationship, they'll be okay!!!! Are you telling me Cris and Kieran don't like each other at all??? Bitch they're made from the same tree and they'd sass Mark around all day long!!!! Give me that content!!!
HELEN AND ALINE ARE FINALLY HERE. EVERYTHING'S OKAY. KIND OF. WELL IT'S NOT OKAY AT ALL BUT AT LEAST THEY GOT EACH OTHER OKAY???
I was patiently waiting like a little lamb for Tessa and Jem to be mentioned more than once. Near the end, they get mentioned a second time. Just to tell me TESSA IS SICK. THANKS, I HATE IT.
OH FUCK I ALMOST FORGOT THE CLARY BOMB!!!!!!!! OH NO
I'd gladly sacrifice Zara Dearborn for whatever cause. Like, do you want world peace? Okay. Do you want a year of free chicken nuggets? Also okay. Just get her out of here.
Weeeelllll now I just have to wait, suffering in relative silence, for the next book.
