ATTENTION : CE LIVRE CONTIENT DES MENTIONS DE violence, torture, viol, inceste.

Bon livre, mais parfois trop graphique dans la violence et un peu gore.

Ce roman est très intéressant et aborde certains points de la société de l'époque dont on parle peu, comme les relations sexuelles pour une femme non-mariée au Moyen-âge, la religion (dans un point de vue moins idéalisé et vraiment de celui de qqn qui vivait la religion à cette époque). J'ai beaucoup aimé ce point là.
En revanche, j'ai trouvé le livre trop violent, trop réaliste, trop descriptif. En effet, il décrit une société médiévale et les tortures qui vont avec mais je me demande si c'était parfois nécessaire. Ce point là mais énormément dérangé ce qui explique cette note, mais si c'est quelque chose que vous pouvez lire sans problème, alors foncez!

WHOOOOO boy. This book messed me up in the best way possible. It was a wild ride from start to finish, and it really fame me a ton of insight. The realistic portrayal of Esclarmonde and the stunning plot had me constantly wondering if she could follow up this dramatic, gut-wrenching thing with more of a dramatic, gut-wretching thing. This is the second best historical fiction I've ever read(second to Blood Water Paint) and it's a close second. Well done, Carole. This book had my mind thoroughly boggled with its purity of faith and the power of an individual.

Très beau roman, magnifiquement écrit. Je suis définitivement fan de ce que fait Carole Martinez.
