As with the previous books in this series, another great mission for the Sigma team. My only frustration is that in each of these books they always seem unprepared for the better equipped adversaries and never seem to get the best of the baddies until the very end.

This book started out so promising, but I have to admit towards the end my interest waned. I felt that the plot was well thought out, and that the characters did have a lot of thought put into them but I didn't really feel a personal connection to the characters. I did enjoy reading about the Native Americans and I really liked the way that the book finished the main plot of the book, but allowed the cliffhanger to be more of a "sub"plot (even though it is pretty major) which set up the second book really well.

I’m only not giving this 5 because I know the next book will be, and this is kind of a cliffhanger ending. This book really starts to put together all sorts of loose ends and mysteries that have been building for six books.

Not my favorite action book ever. I felt the author tried to weave too many elements into the plot and it was unnecessary. Also, there was some language I could have done without, and there were some errors in regards to both the history and the LDS church. I thought it was poorly researched.

I really enjoy reading books by James Rollins. I can envision the characters and love the adventures they take me on. Rollins has a way of blending fact and fiction, science and beliefs and does a masterful job. So with that said, I was disappointed with The Devil Colony. It wasn't the story line, I just found it a little slow in some parts and had a hard time pushing through. Hopefully, the next book in the series, Bloodline, will be a different experience.

Well as a Mormon there was some laughable stuff in there, and for most of the book he had Joseph Smith's name as John Smith, but it was entertaining enough. Some unnecessary sacrilege near the end though.
