In a last-ditch effort to rescue her brand from the brink of irrelevance, Boston fashion influencer Melanie Karlsen finds herself in a rural fishing village on the east coast of Canada. The only thing scarier than nature itself? The burly and bearded bed-and-breakfast owner and fisherman, Evan Whaler—who single-handedly disproves the theory that Canadians are “nice.”

After a boating accident lands Evan unconscious in the hospital, Mel is mistaken for his fiancée by his welcoming yet quirky family, who are embroiled in a long-standing feud over the B&B. In a bold attempt to mend family fences, Mel agrees to fake their engagement for one week in exchange for Evan’s help with her social media content.

Amid long hikes and campfire chats, reeling in their budding feelings for each other proves more difficult by the day. But is Mel willing to sacrifice her picture-perfect life in the city for a chance at a true, unfiltered love in the wild?

Of course, when I found out this third (and final) book in the Influencer series would take place on Canada's east coast, it was an instant add to my TBR and became a most anticipated release, even without having read books 1 and 2. The Catch was, in fact, my first novel by this up-and-coming Canadian author.

This sweet story was packed with elements I adore in my romance books. From the coastal setting to a great, big meddling family to the grumpy sunshine opposite attract trope, it didn't take long for me to be invested in Mel and Evan's love story. The fake dating/engagement trope is tricky to pull off, yet I think the author did a commendable job making it believable.

The Catch was an open door, entertaining summer read that gave me all of the east coast and foodie vibes. Despite leaving something to be desired, it by no means needed to be as long as it is. This one can easily be read as a standalone, although I am sure reading the previous books would enhance the experience a tad. Based on this book, I would definitely read more Amy Lea books in the future.

I think I just have a thing for the east coast and fisherman tho oops. It had a third act breakup which I normally hate but I enjoyed this one since it was written sincerely and realistically. Plus I loved the compromise between the couple at the end. It also takes place in Canada mostly and he named a boat after her which I loved

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the E-Arc.

I love when I see a new release from Amy Lea as I know they are going to be such an easy, cute and fluffy read and The Catch is no different!

Influencer Melanie who feels like she has hit a rut in the influencer game gets offered the trip of a lifetime to a 5* spa resort it Nova Scotia; the only problem being she is given the incorrect dates.

Melanie is a loveable character who starts off showing she is high maintenance and is not someone for nature however once she stumbles upon the the only place on airbnb available she meets the outdoorsy Evan who is obnoxious and rude. The clash, they fight and they argue but through it all they meet in the middle.
