this was such a fun quick read i loved every second of this book

Very meh.

Catherine Walsh’s other books I’ve read have been decent fluff, with likable characters and feel good romances. This one was just forced from start to finish. I wasn’t even sure through the first half if the two main characters actually liked each other. Which is fine if it’s an enemies to lovers story, but it wasn’t really that. They just had no chemistry, no spark. I kept hoping it would materialize, but no dice.

Catherine Walsh does it again!

This is the second book I’ve read by her, and just like with Snowed In, I absolutely LOVED this book. 🥺🥰 It was ADORABLE and I need an Irishman to fall in love with me immediately, plz.

I really enjoyed the one-night-stand-to-lovers theme of this book, since it’s not something you see often. I sometimes get annoyed with slow burn books, but this was the perfect balance of burn, slow, burn, slow… the buildup was absolutely perfect and the mild drama really kept me invested in the story.

I love a romcom, but there are extremely few romcom books that I actually find funny, and Catherine Walsh nails the humor along with the comedy. The characters are also grounded and complex and real, in a way that’s not too heavy, but enough to give them depth. I really liked Sarah and found her very relatable. She was confident but scared. Strong but self-sabotaging. Declan was so swoony and just so into her, it was absolutely adorable.

I cannot wait to read the rest of Catherine Walsh’s catalog, because she’s now two for two with me!!

Found myself laughing out loud while reading this book. I also did like the fact that there was a happy ending.
