I always enjoy reading the Stephanie Plum books, even if they are repetitive - they always make me laugh, and this book was no different. I thought the hunt for the treasure was entertaining, and loved seeing that Steph's car karma is still hanging on! Can't wait for the next book!
medium-paced
Overall, the series has been a fun palate cleanser. The last couple of books have gotten old and stale (who will she finally pick, Morelli or Ranger; how many cars will she destroy; what calamity will she get into now), which is saying something for a series built on predictable, formulaic story lines. I tend to pick up these books when my brain is tired or after I finish heavier reads. This one was no exception. I finished it in a couple of hours because you can skim so much of it and not miss anything. This one finished up the plot that started in the previous book.
I think this was one of the better ones in a while. It had some fun new twists and characters.
Best of the series in quite awhile
This seems a return to the style of the earliest books in the series. It was less farcical, although still funny, and more plot driven. I have to say, despite liking the character of Morelli, his general absence as a dominant character in this one helped. In isolated relation to the realm of Stephanie Plum, this gets 4/5 stars.

Fortune and Glory continues the saga of Grandma Mazur and the missing keys. I didn't enjoy the last book because of that storyline and I didn't enjoy most of this book because of that storyline. This book has made me realize I am too disappointed in Stephanie's lack of growth to even want to read what will happen next. The bed hopping between Ranger and Morelli is ridiculous at this point. I am no Ranger fan but Joe Morelli deserves someone mature to settle with.
The best parts of this book were any time Potts was around. A novella with Potts and Lula on a misadventure would definitely be a laugh and would have me ready to turn each page.

In an unusual twist for this series, the storyline for this book follows from the previous book in the series. There is lots of gun fire, bad guys, and of course many cars meet their fate in this book!
