This is the third book in the Tales of the Otori, which I started so long ago I couldn't remember the beginning. And then there were so very many characters, and they were all over the place, and everything moved extremely fast in the story.

All of that made it hard for me to love this book, although it wasn't all bad. I did like the setting and the writing itself.

A wonderful entry into the Otori saga.

A solid conclusion to a great trilogy. It doesn't have quite the excitement and power of Grass for His Pillow, but it was still very good.
