A five-year-old girl is facing bedtime, although she's not sleepy, and a bunch of things are making her nervous. She could go get mom and dad, she knows they would come help her, but she wants to take care of things herself. So, with the help of her trusty flashlight, she vanquishes the shadowy monster (her costume hanging on the closet door), the mystery of the tumbling crash (her cat knocking over a stack of books), and other night time scaries. This is a book that may be useful for specific bedtime scenarios to encourage kids to put themselves to bed and comfort themselves if something in their dark room makes them anxious.
