This is poorly written, and there isn't much new info. I almost wish I hadn't read it because it doesn't do anything to help M+H's reputation, regardless what your opinion is. Essentially: Harry and Meghan can do no wrong. The reason I find the Royal Family so interesting is BECAUSE it's so complicated and nuanced and blurry. This falls flat in every way.

I'm a sucker for anything Harry & Meghan-related, and this book ticked all kinds of boxes for me. First of all, isn't the cover amazing! Plus the photo on the back!
The veil separating the British monarchy from the public is drawn to the side as we see Harry and Meghan, from dating to marriage to parenthood to wanting to change the world just as Harry's mother did. There are some deeply private moments, and while I did already know some things, I did learn a lot. It will be interesting to watch this couple through the coming years. I recommend this book!

I’m not an avid royal watcher, but I was a Diana fan and I have been watching "The Crown," and so I was curious what had prompted Harry and Meghan to exit. This book is pretty superficial and fawning. I still don’t know what was so bad that they had to quit in such a hurry. It all seems like kind of petty stuff. I don’t know that there was anything revealing or all that interesting in this.

Read this if you:
· will ingest any royal family content you can get your hands on
· want to know exactly what food is served at the family’s Christmas and special events
· don’t mind a little bias
Synopsis:
This book details Meghan and Harry’s time together, from their first blind date to their decision to leave the royal family, revealing the many reasons behind this unprecedented decision. The authors, who are top royal reporters and have had access to the couple behind the scenes, aim to dispel many of the rumours and false allegations that have plagued the couple both in the UK and in North America.
My thoughts on the book:
I LOVE the royal family and especially Harry and Meghan but this book did not do it for me. It was heartbreaking to read about the terrible things that were said about the couple and how most of the country (and some of the family) made Meghan feel like an outsider. I did find most of the details to be incredibly biased though, especially the comparisons to Kate. Throughout the book, as the authors talk about the headlines and unflattering stories about themselves that the couple had to endure, they explain that the Firm forbade Meghan and Harry from responding to the press and denying the allegations. This book felt like one long rebuttal to every false news story that has ever been published about them.

This is such cloying sucking up, I just can’t believe a single word of it, especially when it comes to Harry.
To exemplify, when describing him dressing up for a costume in a Nazi uniform, it’s basically passed off as bad timing and poor judgement. Seriously?!
Meghan seems like a much nicer person than he is, and if even half the stuff they mention her doing in the past is true, I just wonder why the fuck she’d ever betray her values for a pretender prick like him?! So disappointing...both this book and her selling out.
Okay, deep breath. I have a serious allergy to Nazis, sell-outs, and modern day monarchies. I saw the interview, of course, and I have to say I’m much more interested in dead monarchs than modern day ones. Which is why I decided to read this book, because I know nothing about the moderns. It only made me angrier though, knowing I might not live long enough to see all monarchies extinguished. Moving on.
This book really was extremely cloying, extremely suck up. It couldn’t have been more like that if they had written it themselves...there was literally no criticism, ever, even when they did questionable things, such as the Nazi incident, the clear fact that although so much is said about how much Meghan cares about charities and the poor, she can still go out and about blowing money away (they try to disguise this by saying she spends hours picking out shoes in Oxford Street, only to contradict themselves by saying it’s the most expensive store on it, going about with a necklace worth $300, etc) and basically just ignoring what she tries to claim are her values.
If she stood by those, she would never have married into a monarchy, to someone who insists he cares about racism (thou doth protest too much, no?) though up until he’s with Meghan, nothing is really said about how he’s done much regarding that, other than picking up (maybe? I haven’t fact checked this, and don’t trust this book at all) where his mom left off helping with AIDS in the so-called Commonwealth. As if calling it the Commonwealth wasn’t in itself so colonial and gross of them...ugh. I just can’t. With any of these loons.
Also, there are a few inconsistencies. Conspiracy theorist yours truly, but I have to admit that I wonder if those aren’t deliberate, to maybe make it look like they’re not dictating this entire book?
First, it’s said they waved away the first baby’s title...second, they claim Meghan kept up with the tabloids. Only both of those things are the opposite of what she said in the interview. So...what’s the truth? I think the stuff in the book is, that most of the interview was bs to (try) to make them sympathetic heroes.
I could go on and on forever. Final say is, I wouldn’t believe this book, Harry, or Meghan or any of the others as far as I can throw them. Them leaving the firm or whatever was purely self-serving, not value-driven, much as they would like us to believe otherwise. If they hadn’t removed the kid’s title, I’d bet a year’s rent that they’d still be there, racist tabloids and all.
If you think you have true evidence to the contrary, feel free to defend them below.
