I have different opinions of this book the more I read. The first half of the book seems very Hallmark movie like of how everything starts off for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. I don't think the book gets to the meaty more substantive aspects of their lives until the last 6 chapters of the book. That's when I feel the book gets a more serious tone.
It is interesting getting tidbits of what it is like for the Duke and Duchess in their private lives. It's a good fun read especially if you are into Royal history and the current royals.
This book has me curious as to how the Duke and Duchess will progress in their lives as non-working royals. Can't wait to hear more!

2.5 stars. If I had to pick one word to describe this book it would be syrupy. I probably should have expected that. There were some details that I didn't know already, but I thought the actual writing would be better. There were some basic grammar/formatting issues (dropped words, run on sentences, etc). Of course it was supportive of Harry and Meghan but I didn't really find it that it vilified other people involved.

I really enjoyed this book about Harry and Meghan. Almost all of the incidents mentioned I remember reading about in the news and always wondered what the true story was. I would be interested in a book focused on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge throughout these years as a companion piece.

While I wish things had turned out differently and they became the fab four, I completely understand the need for separation and a step back from the royal life. I will always be fascinated with the royal family and will want to know more, but I know we will never fully get the truth.

Whether you personally like them or not, one thing that is hard to deny is how they have been treated by the media and all the double standards they have been subjected to. As with every single person on the planet, my wish is that everyone finds peace and purpose on this earth. Each one of us has the ability to be the agent of positive change.

I am interested in royal pop culture, but I'm by no means obsessed. I was hoping for some juicier gossip, but it felt like a recap of what I already knew. Very much catered to Meghan and Harry's side of the story, which is fine because I don't have an opinion on who is right or wrong...but it seems safe to assume Meghan and/or Harry were some of their "sources."

Overall a tad boring.
2.5 stars.

Prior to Harry and Meghan’s engagement announcement, I never paid any attention to the royals, but there was something about them that made me a fan. Eager to really get an inside look of the journey they have gone on, I was eager to read Finding Freedom and really enjoyed it.

As an American, I’m definitely an outsider of what the monarchy really means to those who live in England. What I don’t understand is the hatred towards a couple that want to use their power to do good on this world. So what if they do that not living in England? If they have the means to start, fund and be the face of organizations that can affect positive change, shouldn’t people support them?

For all the negativity thrown Meghan’s way for people saying she destroyed the royal family, Finding Freedom paints a better picture of what really goes on behind the gates of Buckingham Palace. Harry and William were growing apart before Meghan was in the picture because they are on two very different paths for their future. How can Meghan and Kate be the best of friends when they barely saw each other? And it wasn’t like the opportunities weren’t there, but if one person is seeking the other out for guidance and support in navigating this new terrain and the other isn’t there, you can’t expect them to be anything other than cordial sisters-in-law.

This book does a great job of clearing up a lot of rumors that have followed the couple ever since the press found out they were together. For a family that has suffered great loss over the years and had an opportunity to become more forward thinking, there was a lot more they could’ve done to not only protect the mental health of Harry and Meghan, but to support them as well through everything.
