I have a pretty big fear of the water that only amped up the level of creepy for me with this book. What was to be a fun trip the Caribbean to do some diving and relaxing, quickly turned into a creepy look into past lives, a sunken ship, a few encounters with sea life and a truly scary adventure with moments of frightening paranormal mishaps. The characters are interesting with a bit of flair and angst. The story is well written, characters have depth and intrigue. the author did a phenomenal job with the dive scenes that scared me enough to solidify why I'll never go diving! This is a fabulous read!

A horror story involving 5 divers and a haunted shipwreck. It wasn’t a bad read; in fact, I was pretty interested in most of what was going on. However, the story just kind of fell flat for me. The ending was very anticlimactic, and more could have been done to flesh out a very spooky and chilling end. For me, the horror element leaned more on the sea diving than the supernatural, and it just didn’t do it for me.

I will say overall that the story was interesting though. You’ll get to take a trip to the Carribean and see some pretty cool deep sea activity. The characters each have their own unique personalities, some more so than others.

If you’re interested in shipwreck salvaging, diving suspense, and being transported back to 1600’s West Indies life, you may want to give this book a read. It would be worth your time. However, if you are looking for a paranormal horror experience, you may find it’s not quite what you’re looking for.
