OMG WHAT. I was so positive from the beginning I knew what was happening, then shocked then back to “knowing” then shocked again. WOW this had me on EDGE. this was so crazy and so good!!!!

This book was super, well I want to say over the top, but I think it wasn’t necessarily that… the constant bait and switch was annoying and yet kept you invested to at least see it through. I think one problem was that there were too many unreliable narrators and the end seemed too easy and too suss. Also annoying set up for a second installment if she’s ever in need of buck.
I guess I’m more mad at this book than anything. I just finished a beautiful ugly and I gave it 5 stars for excellent writing, character development, secondary characters were multidimensional, scenery and place was 💋 I suppose I expected all her books to be this good, but alas this book was published in 2020 and the positive side is that she is growing as an author. I may hold off on older works unless something really comes through for me.
