Omg!! The Lunar Chronicles was one of my favorite series back in middle school and being able to reread it the way I’ve always planned too makes me so happy. I forgot how much I loved this book and feeling as though I’m reading it for the first time again makes me live it even more after all this time. If you’re looking for a thrilling, adventurous YA dystopian novel with a romantic side plot, Cinder is the book for you. 1000000% recommend !!

An absolutely fantastic read for younger readers! It was one of my favorite books in middle school and I'm glad to say it holds up! It's not perfect, I wish there were a bit more character development, and as a 19yr old, I can definitely see how it is not written for my demographic. I can't wait to finish this series in the coming year finally!

An incredible start to an expansive science fiction series with immediately loveable characters, loveable settings, and loveable writing.  The book itself flows amazingly well, with a permanently addictive pace that makes the story fly past, especially as wider galactic tensions arise, plot twists grow in number, and stakes become rapid.  Recommend to anyone looking for a good science fiction, or badass sci-fi versions of your favourite fairytale princesses and stories.

This book and its general storyline is not a masterpiece, in my opinion, but I did find it entertaining to read and enjoyed the writing style. The main characters were likable, though I did find that I forgot about two rather important side ones pretty much as soon as they were out of the picture...

Not sure how I feel about the storyline as a whole- it just seems like a lot? I guess that at the end of the day, it's about the hostile relationship between Earth and the Lunar people, but there's a lot put into it that made it difficult for me to grasp. Saying that, I'm not really a sci-fi enthusiastic, but I think that people who are could really like this book.

My biggest critique is that I'm not a fan of the big "plot twist" of a book being obvious to the readers and not to the MC- which happens with a few different things. I was getting frustrated with Cinder for not realizing what was right in front of her, while also acknowledging that we see a lot more than she does. Still, I'm excited to continue with the series and see where it goes.
