Third book in this series that I’ve devoured. Because I’m reading all these books through the library I had to read this as an audiobook and learned I’ve been mispronouncing everything 😪. Anyways this was a fun edition to the series but not my favorite. I wish we had spent more time on Thorne and Cress and there was more development with their characters. I think having so many main characters is starting to take away from developing everyone. Anyway still loved this book and now I’m about halfway through Winter!

Six POVs? No problem! My initial concern was that juggling six main characters would lead to a scattered narrative.  However, the author masterfully balanced their storylines, giving each character their due time without sacrificing plot development or pacing. This sets the stage perfectly for the final book, and Winter already sounds like a character I can't wait to learn more about!

Okay now I see where the hype is coming from.

I would have sped through this book a lot sooner if it wasn't for school.

Anyway, this book was AMAZING. Throne is officially my favorite guy in the book. He's so cute and sassy and I can't handle the feels. The plot was so fast-paced and action packed. The politics is rich and engrossing, and I love the science fiction aspects. This book had pretty good plot twists too. And the instalove problem is starting to go away, actually. This was definitely my favorite plot and love story of all three books.

The reason I didn't give it a perfect 5 stars was because of Cress. She is definitely my least favorite of the three main female characters. She seemed a little too dependent to me, and I really did not like her "damsel in distress" attitude. She got better toward the end, but her inability to defend herself throughout the book kind of annoyed me.

Regardless, this was still an amazing sequel and I can't wait for Winter. The sneak peak at her we got was so intriguing.
