Finally. The slow burned has thus burned! But in typical slow burn fashion, not until the last 10% -_- I really root for the two now that they’ve, or rather mostly Diem, has figured out their love. The cross-realm travels and collecting of crowns wasn’t the most interesting. Like I get it, she does it to gain powers and crowns but man, there were so many it got confusing by the end and how she had 5? Her mother gets a bit of redemption but honestly forgiven too soon. Synopsis said war was beginning but it doesn’t start yet. They’re more like ambushes due to the fallen realm powers thing. I enjoy how every villain, almost all, was written to have a reasoning for being. I got bored mid-way honestly and started picking up other reads but powered thru. I am looking forward to reading the fourth and last in the series to see how Luther grows into his role. He’s been the most stable rock ever through and through, time and time again, he definitely deserves more. Diem wasn’t as annoying in this book compared to book 2. She matured and of course is stubborn and doesn’t think things thru but that’s how she’s written. The sparks of romance came off as more lustful desires in this book with the tension building throughout. There are moments of love of course, but overall there were a lot of predictable scenes/outcomes when it came to their mortality.
